Requirements for scheduling a baptism:

Parents must be registered as members of Holy Cross Mendota, Sts. Peter & Paul Peterstown, or St. Theresa Earlville and attend Mass at one of these churches regularly.  Contact Carmen Correa at [email protected] or (815) 993 - 4823 to register for all baptisms.  If this is the baptism of your first child, or you have never taken a baptismal preparation course for your other children, please take the online certification course Belonging prior to scheduling your child’s baptism.  A certificate of completion will be sent to you that you can email to [email protected] or place in the weekend collection to verify you have completed the course. 
 
Godparents are expected to be practicing their faith regularly and be Catholic.  If there is a second Godparent, it is permissible for them to be baptized in and regularly practicing another Christian faith if they are not Catholic.  If there will be 2 Godparents, they must be male and female. 
 
Children who are in Grades 1 - 8 are expected to participate in our CCD Program or be enrolled at Holy Cross Catholic School in Mendota.  Registration deadlines apply.

Peter & Paul Peterstown o St. Theresa Earlville y asistir a Misa en una de estas iglesias con regularidad.  Comuníquese con Carmen Correa al [email protected] o al (815) 993 - 4823 para inscribirse en todos los bautismos.  Si este es el bautismo de su primer hijo, o si nunca ha tomado un curso de preparación bautismal para sus otros hijos, tome el curso de certificación en línea Pertenecer antes de programar el bautismo de su hijo.  Se le enviará un certificado de finalización que puede enviar por correo electrónico a [email protected] o colocar en la recogida del fin de semana para verificar que ha completado el curso. 
 
Se espera que los padrinos practiquen su fe regularmente y sean católicos. Si hay un segundo Padrino, es permisible que ellos sean bautizados y practiquen regularmente otra fe cristiana si ellos no son católicos. Si habrá 2 padrinos, deben ser hombres y mujeres. 
 
Se espera que los niños que están en los grados 1 a 8 participen en nuestro Programa CCD o estén inscritos en la Escuela Católica Holy Cross en Mendota.  Se aplican plazos de inscripción.

Paragraph 1283:
With respect to children who have died without Baptism, the liturgy of the Church invites us to trust in God's mercy and to pray for their salvation.

Paragraph 1284:
In case of necessity, any person can baptize provided that he have the intention of doing that which the Church does and provided that he pours water on the candidate's head while saying: "I baptize you in the name of the Fahter, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
